Hi,

I try to print a .pps file on my canon ir3200 (pcl5c v6.31 driver, 256Mo RAM) but it crashes.
Here are some indications: file size is about 28Mo (100 pages), when I print the file it turns to 140Mo during the process and then the printer crashes.
Is it a problem with the pcl driver? or the printer?

Could be the document as well. Try it on another printer.

It couldn't hurt to try the postscript driver. If you have the option, try the UFR driver.

Try changing the spool settings on the device settings tab.

Does it print anything before it crashes? is it always on the same page?

Just guessing, need more info.

Hi,

With the ps driver, it works well but with the pcl driver it always crashes. Don't have UFR driver.
I print directly to the printer. Don't spool printings.
Sometimes it prints 5-6 pages before it crashes but sometimes anything.
Initially the printer had 128Mo then I added another 128Mo thinking it was a ram problem but don't solve anything.
Any help?

a quick check shows that v6.41 is available.

something to try.
Right click on the printer driver and select properties.
Select the "Device Settings" tab.
Look for "Spooling at Host:"
the default is Auto
try enable, if that doesn't work, try disable. If that doesn't work, use the PS driver ;-)

Good luck,
