Canon 1505N laser goes offline on reboot.

This new printer is ethernet connected to a ADSL Modem/router. I just followed the instructions and the ibstallation software did the rest. However, after I reboot the printer is seen only as "offline" and the only way I've found to ge tit back is uninstall/reinstall. I've looked at the port and it is a standard TCP/IP port. My laptop ( which is also Vista Premium) has the same problem with the printer going offline.
Any suggestions?..please.
