Hi,

We have been having this issue for a long and we cannot figure out what's going on. We have a client with a Toshiba Tecra laptop with Windows NT Wrkstn that he wants to use to be able to VPN to their LAN. We have tested the VPN connection and it works with any other computer -desktop or laptop-, with dial up connection or a hgh speed connection. We've also tested the connection using Windows NT Server and Windows 98 and we can connect with no problem. It seems like that this particular computer is the only one having issues. We've even tried switching ISP's since we've tested ISP1 to work better with his ISP (ISP2)... The only thing that we also noticed is the presence of a XIRCOM Realport Combo card and there's also an internal modem with he doesn't use since he now prefers using the XIRCOM ... is there an issue with XIRCOM not working with VPN? ...

-thanks.

Hello,

I have not heard of problems with the Xircom not working with a VPN. But, one thing that may be causing a problem could be the origional loading sequence of the VPN software and networking software. You may want to uninstall the VPN software and the networking software and reinstall making sure that the networking client software is installed first then install the VPN client. This has resolved similar issues for me.

Keep me posted!

Thanks Chuck.

Well, we spent 15 hours+ trying everything to fix this thing and we even called Toshiba for help. They told us it would probably work if we upgrade to Win2k... which we did and now it's working perfectly... didn't get to solve the WinNT mystery....

I'm glad to hear you got the problem resolve!
