Cannot view htaccess files

I'm curious if anyone would know why I cannot view
htaccess or htpasswd files through Cute ftp.
I'm on a shared cobalt RAQ 4.
And don't have access to telnet.

This is just a guess but both .htaccess and .htpasswd are hidden files. Any file that begins with a "." is considered a hidden file, they can not be seen from directory browsing.

Sounds like it might be an option you have to enable in order to see hidden files within cute FTP, just a guess.

From a shell session use "ls -a" to see hidden files.
