We have our own logon on mail2web. I can log on to Check Mail using the secure logon (as well as other secure sites). They have a Settings option that you have to log onto and a Contacts option (no logon). I cannot log onto the Settings. I keep getting a "Page cannot be displayed DNS error". I have Windows 2000 Pro. Other computers on our network can log onto the Settings page with no problem. I have deleted my Temporary files, there is nothing listed in my Hosts file, I have the mail2web site as Always Allow, and I have configured less restrictions than anyone else. I even repaired IE 6. I still cannot get to that page, which of course I need to. TIA for any suggestions.

Do you have a pop up blocker running. Not familar with the site your going to, but sometimes I find that it will block things like password expiry reminders, login process boxes etc.I've had exactly the same thing with a online booking company and all that was killing the site was a pop up that had a pretty progress bar that disappeared once the credit card info had been done. Which muppet thought of that!

Thanks for your reply. No, I don't have any pop up blockers but I have noticed something else. When I go to a web page, at the bottom is listed that it is in the Internet Zone (I have nothing listed in the Internet Zone in Tools, Internet Properties). If I go to a secondary page that is listed as Internet Zone, I get the message of Page Cannot be displayed. If I go to a secondary page that is listed as Unknown Zone, I have no problems. It seems to be when it is an Internet Zone page that is accessed from another Internet Zone page. Is there somewhere else that Internet Zone settings may be kept? TIA for anymore ideas.

OK. Now I need to find an answer. The boss's secretary has the same problem and can't go to a web page that he wants her to go to. I have tried reinstalling IE 6.0; that didn't work. PS I can't go to the boss's requested web page either. TIA for any new suggestions.

Got it. It appears to be a sequence of fixes. First I ran sfc /scannow. Then, as the user, I registered softpub.dll, wintrust.dll and initpki.dll. I had to use regedt32 to give the user (Power User) access to HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Cryptography\Providers\Trust to register wintrust.dll. But all works now. Thanks for your help.
