Dear All,

Due to SCSI Address changing , I´m trying to configure
the SCSI Jukebox to manage the ROBOT through the
"Device Name" , "\\.\Changer0" , I mean.

Although "Inquire" CAN see that device (\\.\Changer0) , I got "no such file or directory" after configure the "Control Port".

I´m using Legato 7.1.2 on Windows 2003 Environment.

Thank you.

Alexandre

NetWorker does not use the MS name for the changer at all - it uses the scsi address in b.t.l. format. Please use this address instead, which NW by default uses (if you run jbconfig).

Is this only for Windows? I have HP-UX , AIX and Tru64 machines and I usually configure the Media Changers using the Special Device name...

By the way , do you have any idea of how configure the persistent binding?

Thank you.

Alexandre

persistent binding is configured at HBA level. It depends on your HBA brand. See manuals for your HBA.

In the windows environment... ussualy, the jbconfig command detects automatically your changer.

Cheers.

You can run (inquire) to view your current SCSI binding. It a good idea to keep this documented somewhere, in case you have to change out an HBA card.

btw - there is a bug issues in W2K3 TUR floods to occur on SCSI and Fibre attached devices. This is similar to a Denial of Service attack on an IP network. It causes the units to fail to respond or to be slow to respond to SCSI commands. This is documented in the following Microsoft knowledgebase article:
