Cannot Upgrade VirusScan

I'm trying to install VirusScan 4.5.1 SP1 on 3 Win2K SP3 machines where VS 4.5.0.534 is installed. Usually setup removes the old version and after a reboot the machine is on VS 4.5.1 SP1 but here it fails to start the VShield and the console - don't know why. Even if I manually un-install and delete the NetworkAssociates folder, reboot and new-install VS 4.5.1 SP1 it's not running.
Right now I "downgraded" to VS 4.5.0.534 again but having problems with ActiveX filters etc.
Has anyone a good idea?
