Just purchased a new 7200 80GB Hard Drive for my brothers PC...
ECS P6BX-A+ 1.1 Motherboard
The problem is when I downloaded the latest BIOS firmware upgrade to support IDE Drives over 40GB, I tried applying it to the motherboard but keep getting the error message...

"The File Size Does Not Match!"

Any ideas would be much appreciated.
Kind Regards

the flash utility doesn't think the flash file is the "size" it is supposed to be. I suggest an email to support for your MB is in order.

Thanks, I tried emailing ecsusa.com the other day but no reply apart from this huge autoresponder thing.
There are two different versions, 1MB and the 2MB Flash, I have the 1MB I think, I managed to upgrade right up until the 40GB upgrade.
Every other update works ok.(

try a new download- mebbe corrupt in Xfer??
other than that...

the problem maybe OS- 98se and ME, EARLY 2000 -WON'T SEE ABOVE 30 GIG/40
MS has fix on their site .

duh the problem is with the BIOS definate like as the BIOS dont see the full size of the Hard Drive!

Cheers
Anyways

The best thing for you to do is to get a utility from the drive manufacturers website that will allow the BIOS to get beyond the 40gig limit,it will put a special boot block onto the drive so that it will work correctly, if it's a Maxtor then the software that you need is Maxblast 2, most drive makers have their own version of the software, this is the best way to get round the problem.

Hope it helps you out.....

Thanks all, I have found a 2MB BIOS Chip and will attempt a hot swap then flash from the old one :p

Cheers
Dan
