cannot uninstall 1

I had a problem with lotus and I tried to fix it but made it worst. I wanted to uninstall Lotus and start over but when I try to uninstall lotus windows gives me a "error 1326: error getting file security: c:\Lotus\Getlasterror:5"

Has anyone else experienced this? Please help!!

Did you try uninstalling right after having closed Notes ? In that case, there might be a file lock still in place, or Notes may not have had time to close correctly.

In any case, you do not need to erase Notes to reinstall it. All you need to do is empty the notes.ini file and erase the names.nsf, bookmarks.nsf, cache.dsk files and you should be able to reinstall by just restarting Notes.
These files are located in your Notes folders. The ini file in the program folder, the others are in the data folder.

Does this error subsist after reboot ?

I might have uninstalled right after closing notes. But even after I rebooted it still did the same thing.

what do you mean when you say empty the notes.ini file?

Just open the ini file in Notepad and remove everything after the first four lines.
When Notes restarts, it will automatically go into setup mode.
