Cannot telnet through VPN

Hi,
I have a VPN connection and our client is trying to telnet through the VPN, I can actually see that they are connected to my server, but am not able receive the message itself. We tried all ways possible. We are actually able to Telnet to our public profile, but when we are doing this through VPN we don't see the messages coming in at all!!! I am completely NON VPN guy, so i know nothing about it. Please suggest me some probable solution, and may be I can talk our VPN guys about it.

what product are you using as the VPN endpoint??

I hate all Uppercase... I don't want my groups to seem angry at me all the time! =)
