cannot start photoshop 7

Hi!
I need some help - I cannot start my PS7. Here's what I did:
I had PS7 running on English Window 2000 (NT), one day I installed some chinese fonts in NT, started PS7 and it did not open - all I got was the splash screen, initializing stuff, and then the splash disappear and nothing happened. I deleted the chinese fonts, uninstalled and re-installed PS7 and it still doesn't work - same thing happened - splash screen and that's it.
The weird thing is, it works when I uninstalled PS7 and installed PS6 instead. Any clue?
Note:
1. I have Norton Anti-Virus installed on the computer.
2. I tried uninstalling all adobe products and install PS7 only, it didn't work
3. I also tried deleting all adobe related registry (not sure if I did it right though) and then install PS7, it didn't work either.

Sounds like your problem is due to corrupt fonts and your preferences file is shot.
