Hi guys,
I am trying to install MySql on Linux (Mandrake 8). And everytime when I try to start the server. like this
[mysql@127 support-files]# ./mysql.server start
I get the message like:
"./mysql.server: @hostname@ command not found
./mysql.server: my_print_defaults command not found
[mysql@127 support-files]# Starting mysqld daemon with database from /usr/local/mysql/data
020709 09:07:03 mysqld ended"

Anybody can give me a hint?
I really appreciate it!

this looks like you have not properly set up paths to the needed binaries or even you don't have them at all, which i cannot imagine as /bin/hostname is i think installed defaultly and my_print_defaults is a mysql command
check the startup script for wrong paths to the binaries
