Does anyone know what causes the error message "Cannot shift objects off sheet" in Excel? The help system has nothing on it.

I get the error when I try to hide details in groups by using the little 123 grouping buttons in the top left corner.

I'm not sure which objects it is trying to shift.

Any ideas?

Thanks...........

The objects could be embedded charts, or textboxes or other graphic objects.

If these objects have properties of "Don't move or size with cells" then trying to hide details, or hiding columns or rows any other way, to an extent that would cause these objects to end up outside the bounds of the spreadsheet will cause your error.

Double click your objects and change the properties, or move them to a place where the error doesn't occur.

Cheers, Glenn.
