We have an IP500 with PRI and Dynamic T (2 T1s). We are using the ARS feature and for some reason we cannot set our toll free number as the outgoing number that is displayed on the receivers end. We can use anyone of or toll numbers but not the toll free. When trying to make a call, just get the busy signal type sound.

Any suggestions? Would this be network provider issue?

Thanks

or get a SIP provider that can offer toll free numbers and you can then present it off switch!

Indeed a network issue, toll free numbers are basically just forwards to one of your normal numbers and as such the IPO has knowledge of it and it is not a valid number on your trunk anyway, you need to speak to the line provider/toll free provider

You usually have to get the provider to open up the circuit so that you have control of the caller ID. then you can send any number out.

Normally this is caused by an IAD being used from your provider and they are blocking numbers that don't belong to the local site. To test this, try and enter a CLI of 555-555-1212 and see if it sends that out. If not, then definitely the provider has an IAD. I don't see these same issues when the provider does not use an IAD.
