Cannot send mail to other local users

Hi Guru's

I am trying to set up Sendmail 8.11 on my RedHat 7.3 box. The problem I'm having is that local users can send mail to 'root', but not to each other! Also, root receives mail but cannot reply or send new measages to other local users. Any help would be gratefully received.
