I have a windows SBS 2003 server which includes the shared fax service.
I have never been able to send a fax from any PC on the network.
We have purchased a new USR external Fax/Modem. It works fine as a modem on the server. It is configured as the fax device in the fax configuration wizard.
If I send a fax from any PC the send fax wizard completes, but no document appears in the Outbox. This is true even if you send the fax direct on the server. It never reaches the queue to be sent.
I have checked and emptied the spool folder as it did contain a number of small files.
I notice that the fax printer is offline. I can't seem to change the state of it - I get "Operation could not be completed".
I have updated to Windows SBS SP1, but the problem still persists.
If anyone has any advice or suggestions, I would be very grateful!!...
