Hello all;

I've installed squirrelmail as my IMAP mail client which works find reading mail but none of my users can send mail OUTSIDE of our domain. The messages vary but often relate to Undefined mailbox and relaying denied.

Sending mail using other clients works just fine on the same machine with the same users?

Anyone know here to look or what to do?
TIA

u need to define how squirrel is going to send mail.. there are two configurable options... localhost and remote host... if local, it will be SMTP.. if remote, put in the IP address or name of the remote SMTP host....

on that host, the access file should be edited to allow mail relaying for that subnet.. for instance, if your IP net is 192.168.0.0/24, then u may enter this info in your /etc/mail/access or /etc/postfix/access

192.168.0 RELAY

depends on which MTA ya using.. whether sendmail, postfix, or qmail....

good luck..
