Hello,

This is the error I get in multiple locations on my website. I am using postnuke for my website. I get this error when I try to access my PostCalendar, PNaddressbook, the modules area in the admin screen, the permissions area in the admin screen, and the blocks area in my admin screen. I had a backup of the entire postnuke folder when it was working. I replaced it with the functional postnuke backup and the problem still exists. I know it isn't Postnuke. The only possible problem could be in MySQL.

I am guessing it has to do with permissions or users, but what?

Any Ideas?

I know nothing about Postnuke, but the error message "no database selected" is returned when you issue a query without having selected a database. You can select a database using the USE dbname statement.

Would I get this message if the program (postnuke) tried to query a DB but the username and Pword were wrong? or only from what you stated previously?

Also I have read from other posts that Dreamweaver MX screws up some of your hidden files in MySQL. Have you heard of this?

The real problem is that I am an educator trying to design a site for our school district. I am not a programmer. I am a TOTAL NOOB when it comes to Fedora, MySQL, php, postnuke, and apache2. I have come along way, but obviously not far enough yet.

You shouldn't get that error if the username/password were wrong.

That error is telling you that you need to tell mysql which database you need to use, or that you don't have a connection to mysql at all.

I remember accidently forgetting to include a file in php with the login information, and so the script was trying to login to the mysql database with all zero-length strings (including the database name), and I received that same error.
