Cannot select alternate hardware profiles on Sony Vaio

I'm setting up a Sony Vaio PCG-X18, and I want to configure several hardware profiles (in-office, dial-in etc.) in Windows 98.<br>The problem I have is that when any profile other than the original is selected, Windows displays a blue screen headed <b>&quot;Dock Change&quot;</b> with the following message: <b>Windows is unable to determine your hardware profile. Is <i>'profile name'</i> the current profile?.</b><br>The only way to move on is to answer Y.<br>Can anyone please tell me why this is happening, and how I can stop it from happening!<br>Thanks.
