Hi
I have just set up Mandrake 8.2 on my laptop. First time with Linux, so far so good.
From my Win2000 computer I can see my Linux laptop and I can transfer files onto the laptop, this took 2 days to achive but I learnt a lot.
If I go into Mandrake Control Center\Mount Points click on search servers I can see the computers on the network but can not see the shares.
What have I missed?
Also there has to be a better way of seeing the network computers and mapping drives than going through the control center?

Thanks Peter

If you know the server you want to see the shares of:

smbclient -L CIFS_SERVER

if you need an authenticated user then add -U user%password
