I accidentally entered this into the SQL Server setup forum. Sorry for the duplicate.

I am a programmer and just took a class on SQL Server Reporting Services. I work in a small shop where our IT staff is not very knowledgeable about SQL Server setup beyond the defaults.

My computer appears to have SSRS set up on it. I say that because when I try and install it, I get a message that it is already there. However I do not see the option to do a Report project in my VS 2005 designer.

What could be wrong?

Under "Create Project," you should have a subtag for Business Intelligence Projects." Other subtags are "Visual Basic," "Visual C++," etc. If you don't have that, try an uninstall/reinstall.

Thanks. I was wondering if that is what I needed to do. I did have SQL Server Express on the machine prior to the full install. Not sure if that had anything to do with it.

Did you uninstall SQL Express first before you loaded the full version? If you didn't, I bet that's the problem.

Yes I did install SQL Server Express first. What do I have to do? Thanks for responding.

I would try uninstalling ALL versions of SQL Server and reinstalling from scratch. I think you may have conflicts between the SQL Express and full versions. That's just my gut feeling though.
