cannot see contact in global address list

I created a new OU for contacts and created the contacts and gave the smtp address for the contact. I created a distribution group and want to add the contacts to the group. I cannot see the contacts when I try to add them to the group, and they do not show up in the Global Address list.
Any ideas?

Did you create and exchange email address when you went through the process of creating the contact? When you look at the properties of the contact in ADUC does it show any exchange or email address tabs?

Yes, I created the exchange address. I did figure out the problem though. I listed the display name in the wrong order. I was searching the global address list for the last name when it was listed as the first name. Made the change and the problem is corrected.
