Cannot save files off internet 1

I am currently using Mozilla Firefox and I cannot save files off the internet.

For instance if I google search an image and right click to save as everything seems to run as normal. As a test I try to save an image on my desktop or even replacing an already saved image. When I do save as it looks as though it saves fine but when I navigate to the desktop or wherever that item was saved the item is not there.

Please let me know if anyone recognizes this issue or if you need more information regarding my issue.

I ran spybot and avg and neither found any viruses.

Does the same issue occur if you use IE? Does this occur under all user accounts on the computer or just yours? See if the link below offers any help.

It only happens in mozilla and it appears to only occur when i try to save images.

I cleared temp files because I heard this could be an issue.

Still no success.

But to clarify, it seems to work fine with IE, I would just prefer to use mozilla.

Did you try the other methods described in the link such as trying a different download folder, resetting the download folder, removing the download manager plugins, etc.?

i had to manually clear the download folder by going into the mozilla profiles folder in my c: drive. very odd but it worked!

I thought I had some crazy virus and never thought it could just be a mozilla issue!
