Cannot Save Emails as text

I open a text email in Outlook 2002, then try to save the email on to my hard drive (File/Save As). This will lockup Outlook and give me following message in title bar of the "Save As" dialog box: "Save As (Not responding)". I will then have to use the Task Manager to kill Outlook. I have MS Office SP installed on this XP Pro computer. It only seems to have this problem with text emails - I can save html messages to my C drive with no problems. Any help would be appreciated.
