Cannot save changes "%1s" in the repository.
I thought I had this under control. I changed from using the Access Repository on my hard drive to using the Oracle Repository on the server. I added all my functions to the repository. I went to update one of the functions to make a simple change in the logic. So I disconnected the function as the first step. Then I made the change to the code. I tested the report and the change is what I wanted to save. I chose to add the function object back to the repository so that all of my other reports will see then new code change. The prompt asks as it should do I want to save the function in place of the one that already exists with that name and I say YES. It returns with message "cannot save object %1s into the repository. I am using Crystal Reports 9.2.2.634 with Oracle 10g. I am able to save object to my local access table fine but I don't want to go back to it. I would like the Oracle Database on the server to be my repository. btw I can rename the new object with something different and I can add it to the repository, but i would like not to have to continue to do this. Hope you can help and appreciate your reponses. Thanks

Hmmm - good to see someone's using the repository! Also, nice that you've taken the extra step and centralized - a lot of people don't realize this can be done. I've done the same thing at a number of my clients sites, but all with MS/SQL - it sounds to me like there is some soft of problem with your ODBC connection, or security settings on your Oracle database. I only say that, because it sounds like you're doing the right steps in Crystal - and we update functions that way all the time.

Just a warning too - Crystal moved the repository to Enterprise with version 10 - so it is no longer a part of Crystal Reports....

Still no luck....
I checked the ODBC setting and changed it from Oracle for OraHome92. Crystal Decisions recommends using the CR Oracle ODBC Driver 4.10 for repository access. I'm still getting the message..I also found that if I delete a function object, it will delete but I cannot add it back in using the same name.

Oracle Repository

I'm still unable to update existing functions in the repository as described above. If you have experience with this problem using an Oracle database for your repository or if it is working for you. We could compare notes to see what might be the problem.
