I have machine X and machine Y both running Ubuntu 9.4
I can navigate through nuatilus on X to the files I want to use, say mp3 or jpg files, on Y/home but I cannot exectute them as I do not have permission. I am logged on to both machines with the same UID etc. I have noticed that in the address bar on Nautilus it says "smb:X/home" so it appears to be using samba to see these files (samba is set up on Y. I think this may be the problem but as I am a newcommer to linux and how to share files between linux machines I find I need assistance in this.
Any takers?????
