Cannot run the FrontPage Server Extensions on this page:

My customer created a site using Front Page and saved the files to the webroot folder on the server with out publishing the site. The site was working properly with the exception of the request form. Every time I click the submit button from a request form, I get the following error(Cannot run the FrontPage Server Extensions on this page. I found out through a knowledge base that publishing the web site with FrontPage would solve the problem. It has but now my pages are out of wack and the images no longer appear. Once I revert back to a backup, I am able view the site properly but the "Cannot run the FrontPage Server Extensions on this page:" error message comes back.

Is there something I am doing wrong? Please help.

Hi cyberfreek,

The "Cannot run the FrontPage Server Extensions on this page" message is generally associated with the extensions.

There are a number of FrontPage components which require the extensions as well as publishing with FrontPage tohttp location, e.g. Forms and Hit Counter. There are others as well. Do not use FTP to transfer a component page, as this can corrupt the extensions.

Reinstalling or resetting the extensions can remedy this sometimes. Although the extensions are frequently the error prompt, improper form properties settings can trigger this as well.

If this is a published page, a URL would be helpful.

As to the images, I would double check the file path, to make sure there aren't any C: drive references or that the images aren't in a _private folder.
