Cannot retrieve documents from diskette

I have Workperfect documents on a diskette I have used for a couple of years. Suddenly, my computer is telling me the diskette cannot be accessed because it has not been formatted. Formatting it will destroy the documents. Is there any way to retrieve them?

I hate to say this but it sounds like your disk is corrupted and if it is the answer is no.

Before you give up, try accessing the diskette using Windows Explorer - you may be able to open the files there - if they ARE there, copy them to your documents folder on the C-drive, and open them there from inside WP. I had this problem with WP9 on Windows 2000, and it wasn't solved until SP4. Good luck!

Have you tried doing a File > Open, and then Preview the file ? If you can see it in Preview, you can do a cut&paste.
