Cannot resolve the host name when I ping

I am trying to fix a Unix File Server 5.0.6. I cannot ping the server name (ie. ping tracks)
I am getting two lines back, one with the server address (192.168.3.10) and then another line
with a address of 192.168.3.255. When I do this for a networked printer I get the same results.

What is happening???

I have resolved this myself, mistakenly messed up the hosts file.
