cannot renumber extensions

I have a Magix R4 where I cannot renumber any extension all of the numbers are occupied. I have AgntID set from 10 to 9999. How do I remove all of the Group Calling features? None of the users have a login button, and the grouptype is set to Auto Logout.

Well - the first thing I would recommend is to go to 3-digit extention numbering as a start. 2-digit numbering is just too limiting. You can do that after hours - and at least renumber the extentions to the 100 range (default for 3-digit). That way your extentions 10, 11, 12 would become 100, 101, 102, etc. If you wanted to more closely match your existing numbers - first renumber using "setup space" under default. That will renumber all extentions starting with 7100. You can the renumber the block of extentions from 7100 to 7145 to something like 110, 111, etc - up to 145. Or do it in smaller blocks: first renumber 7100 to 7135 to 110 to 134; then renumber (one at a time) 7136 to 136; 7138 to 138, etc - until you have them all similar to what you had before plus 100. That way people can more easily remember the new extention scheme - just add 100. Now you should have a lot more flexibility. Your calling group members will automatically be renumbered at the same time. In voicemail - you would need to change maximum extention length to 3 - from 2. You would only need selector code 1 in voicemail for direct extention transfer - since all extentions would now be in the 100 range. All adjuncts would be in the 7300 range instead of starting with 710 - but you could always renumber them to what they were.

RENUMBING:

Well, looking at your system shows us that it was pretty much left in the DEFAULT numbering plan.

So, the easiest way is to do default renumbering using the SET UP SPACE Option, and then BLOCK RENUMBERING to change to what you want.

So do System Renumber > Default Numbering and SET UP SPACE.

Once that's done all of your extensions are in the 71XX range, and the adjuncts are in the 73XX range.

Then you can number them back to what ever you want.

Usually, unless I am trying to set up extensions that match D-I-D's i always do the SET UP SPACE and then do the Multi Button phones in the range of 100 to what ever, and leave the Voice Mail extensions in the 71XX range.

GROUP CALLING:

Are you saying you do not what these exetensions in the calling group?

If so, go to Extensions > More > Grp Calling > Members > enter the GROUP Number and delete the members.
