Hi threre,

i'm having a problem with removal of stalled jobs in ARCserve version 9. Jobstatus is "ACTIVE" and Execution Time is "Stopping". But it has been so more than 24 hours.

Even restart of the CA services did not change anything. Whenever I right-click the job, and select "stop job" it says that the job has allready been stopped and I shall wait untill process is safely terminated. What process and why isn't that process killed when services are restarted?

Any advice any one?
Cheers

Hi
Is the update 9.01 is applied or not if not apply from CA Site.

as a workaround
stop Job
find the job number from job Manager screen
go to ARCserve folder drill to 00000001.QSD and delete corresponding job.

regards,
mohamdr

Hi,

Stop the job engine and run windows explorer.

Get to the c:\program files\ca\brightstor arcserve backup program folder. In there, there is a 00000001.QSD folder.

Delete all the 00000001, 000000002 task files from this folder. This will clear the job queue when you restart the job engine.

NOTE - save your backup jobs as scripts first otherwise you will need to re-create them all again!!

You will also need to re-submit the database pruning job to the queue - Start brightstor arcserve server admin, click on the database tab and then the configuration button. Check the 'submit prune job' box and click ok. Close server admin. You will now see the prune job back in the queue.
