Because of problems (entries to CALENDAR disappearing, and today, inablility to access MEMOS) I thought I had corrupted files and decided to uninstall Sidekick 99 and reinstall in from a CD which I made from an EXE file downloaded several years ago. When trying to reinstall, I get the msg:

"This installation has detected that a previous installation or un-installation requires you to restart your computer".

I have tried restarting and have manually deleted all Sidekick 99 files remaining after uninstalling.

How can I get past this msg and reinstall SK99?

Dear John / Maureen,

Reference the error message "This installation had detected that a previous etc etc "
See the following FAQ page at Tek-Tips

Then see if you can Re-Install Sidekick99

Reference the other message :

Memo Write Files
Memo Write files are listed without an extension in Sidekick 98, so they appear as one file.

A Memo Write file is made up of *.SKWrite, *.SKContent, and *.SKNoteHeader. The asterisk represents the name you give the file when you save it from the Memos view. A fourth file with the extension .SKTmpContent is a temporary file that exists only as long as that Memo Write file is open but may be left behind when Sidekick or the computer Crashes. Back Up and Restore does not back it up.
If you find any copies of SKTemp Files in the Userdata folder then remove them to another folder and then rename them to a .txt extension and open them in Notepad if you need any of the information about the last edit you were making in Sidekick. If they are left in the Userdata folder they can stop Sidekick loading.

Let me know here if you have any problems or need any more info.
