I am trying to register system.directoryservices.dll from Microsoft.Net\Framework\v1.1.4322 using regsvr32, and get this reply.
"dll was loaded, but the DllRegisterServer entry point was not found".

All other dll's register OK. Any Ideas?

I believe I heard it said once that this was often caused by the DLL being a self-registering dll, although I never followed up on it. Is your dll likely to be a self-register? I think that you might find as well that although you get that message in some instances it still works fine.

If anyone can add something more concrete to this it would be good to know.

This is because that DLL is a .net assembly, and not a COM dll.

If you have the .net runtime on that machine, it should already be installed in the Global Assembly Cache, and all you should have to do is just add a reference to it.

BTW, this question might be better asked in the VB.NET forum.
