Hey everyone. I am new to trying to register 3rd party devices to the Nortel CS1000 via SIP endpoints, and I am not having much luck.

I have created the L0 and L1 domains, and have successfully gotten other CS1000s to register as gateway endpoints.

I have built a user endpoint "test_ep" in NRS, and I am trying to get a Linksys ATA to register to it. When it trys to register, I get a message on the Sig Server stating:

15/05/2007 17:08:49 LOG0003 tSPReg: spRegistrar (line 679): endpoint [test_ep] not configured

I did a "nrsUserEPShow Active", and it comes back with:

Active DB
ID USERNAME DESCRIPTION TANDEMENDPOINT H323SUPPORTTYPE SIPSUPPO
RTTYPE NCSENABLED AUTHENABLED PASSWORD L0DDN L1DPREFIX E
164LOCALPREFIX E164COUNTRYCODE E164AREACODE PARENTL0DOMAIN
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-------------
2 test_ep@1 Test Enpoint for Corp. 0 0 2 0
67de9136a987fbe54 298035 1

Where does it get the @1 after the alias that I built, and is this right? What else could be missing?

Thanks in advance.

Check service domain settings in ATA config.
Don't forget to add Linksys to VENDORS file.

Thanks 33. I have heard about having to add the vendors to a file. Is that in vxShell? If so, how is it done?

You can edit the vendorlist in de vxshell with command: spRegVendorAdd "vendor_name".

As far as I know there is also a patch for this. The patch number is already somewhere on this forum.

But I think you need to check the servicedomain name the endpoint is trying to regiter to.

Maybe set the messaging level to debug instead of info. In these messages you will see the servicedomain where the endpoint is registering to.

GoodLuck!
Jacco

Thank you Jacco. I got the vendor name added, and I changed around some setting on the SIP ATAs (I now have a Mediatrix device as well as the Linksys to test), and I have them both registering to NRS, however, I cannot make or recieve calls to either of these devices. I suspect it is a problem in the programming on the SIP Domain/URI mapping on the devices, but the docs for both are pretty useless. I don't see anywhere to tell them what SIP domain/L0/L1. This project has been a lot of fun.

When I am programming these in the NRS, should they be set up as gateways or user endpoints?
