please help! I am a relative newbie to Cisco VoIP and have two fax lines built on FXS ports that are able to fax out but cannot receive inbound fax transmissions.
if you call the fax numbers either internally or externally, you receive the fax tone handshake from the machines, however, if you attempt to fax to them, it answers, gives you about a second of fax "chirp" and then goes silent, does not complete the handshake.
it's like the transmission is being dropped and I'm not certain why. I am told it could have something to do with MGCP and the configuration of the H323 protocol on the router. Does that make sense?
