Cannot "run as administrator" in Macola ES.

On a windows 7 64 bit machine, we right click the ES icon and select "run as administrator". However it is still running as the user logged into windows, not as the domain administrator as we expected. We also never get prompted for the administrator password, which is strange.

We also cannot "Run as...", where you physically enter the user you want to run as. On XP machines this seems to be working OK.

Exact tech support was no help even though the customer is current on maintenance. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

In XP running as administrator runs as the administrator account. In Windows 7 and Vista, running as administrator runs under the logged in user account, but with administrative priviledges. This change came about with the introduction of UAC. To run Macola ES as another user, you will need to log on to the PC as that user.

You may want to read this blog posting.. this feature only elevates the rights to administrator level, if you want to run as a different user, you will need to do what is in this post.

you can simply hold down the shift key and right click to get the menu.

Shift-Right Click will allow you to "run as"? Please tell the Exact Support Team about this, because no one mentioned it to me.
