Cannot print reduced size QXP4.0 document to HP 4ML printer

I publish a tabloid-sized newspaper created in QuarkXpress 4.0. I would like to print a reduced-size hard copy (to fit on 8.5 X 11 or 8.5 X 14 paper) to proof before taking files to printshop, but cannot seem to make my HP LaserJet 4ML take a smaller version. That option will not even present itself in the print dialog box. I AM able to tile, but in the interest of saving paper and time, I wish to print at about 66% and strain my eyes instead!

I've tried everything I can think of, but can't seem to figure a work-around. Last time I took my Zip file to Kinko's and paid an outrageous amount to print it out via Quark Mac (which apparently doesn't have the same technical issue).

I hope someone out there has an idea that will work! Thanks.

Exact same problem. Getting a magazine article ready to print and I have 11x17 ready for output but would like to shrink to fit on my standard inkjet printer. That way i can do color. BUT if it is NOT postscript you don't get the shrink to fit option. WEIRD as all ADOBE products offer this but NOT quark for windows. ANY ideas would be cool.

I never have that problem with Mac version of Quark. It sounds like the PC printer drivers don't deal with the possibility that someone would want a non-standard size. ... Another reason I love my Mac.

You might try a workaround by using Extensis QX 4.0 tools. They have a Scaler tool in the bundle. You can create a dummy 8 1/2 x 11 file and then scale your spread down to about 64% of original size, copy and paste.
