Cannot place or paste images into CS 2

I've had CS 2 for about 3 weeks now. It's been working completely fine up until recently. Now whenever I try to place an image, paste an image and often lately even trying to save a file I get an error.

If I dont get the error when placing or pasting I jsut get a blank box outline where the image should be.

Has anyone had this problem before or does anyone have any ideas? Im up for anything.

Also, if it helps, this is the Windows version.

I haven't seen this problem in particular, but have you looked in your system's event log. There may be an indication there that you are having hardware problems. Worth a shot.

Try quitting AI. The use teh computers search to locate "aiprefs" (that'a the preferences file for AI). Trash this and relaunch AI. See if that helps. Corrupted prefs is the biggest cause of problems with Adobe apps.
