I am trying to use Check Point Securemote VPN-1 software to connect an NT client to our email server to allow remote email access to a user when they are remote. However, once connected to the internet and when I run outlook the vpn software does activate. This works for other clients so that as soon as I click connect when outlook starts the vpn software activates to create the 'tunnel' to our email server via the corporate firewall. The ip address of the server has been entered into the lmhosts file of the client.
If I try pinging the vpn server the vpn software activates and I can login to the vpn server. However, I am still unable to ping the email server. The portable is docked when in the office. Could the machine still be trying to route the ip address of the server via the non-existant network card instead of via the modem?
Can anyone offer some help? The details of the setup are shown below: -
WIndows NT 4.0 Workstation SP6a
Check Point VPN-1 SecuRemote
VPN-1 SecuRemote Version 4.1 SP-3 DES
Build number: 4176
Thanks
