Cannot ping or connect to BCM 3.7 3

Suspect issue with internal parts.
LAN ports show connection on lights.
Nothing had changed.

Question is what would be best to replace? BFT?

I should mention the BFT is not the ones that went bad and caps all look fine.

did you try the basics, verify IP address via serial cable, try both lan ports, are all the status lights good on the BCM?

it doesnt sound like a hardware trouble then, what is the chance of both nics going bad ad the same time, also if it was the BFT you would be having trouble with voice mail and blinking lights. I would reconnect with serial cable and force a new IP on either nic and try to connect to it, it sounds like some lan programing may have gotten corrupted.

Maybe another tech is in order for 2nd opinion at site, first one is one of our best.

Will try changing the IP's this time.

Can you get into the BCM via HTML client ? ? ?

Thinking on this a little if your having problems with the LAN ports you probably are not connecting via HTML Client. I have run into similar issues where it turned out the hard drive went bad.

I would have suggested hard drive also, but if it were bad, voice mail would be down, and the system wouldnt boot to good lights.

Take the hard disk out and add it as a extra drive on another computer to see if that is the problem.

If you have a spare monitor keyboard and mouse then you could try plugging them in on the BCM and power it up to see if you can see the startup sequence.

First tech failed.

Second tech states that Lan 2 was the port setup for their network.
Cable was plugged into Lan 1 for some reason.

First tech claimed to have tried both ports etc.

Sometimes I wish I was on the road still!!
