Cannot ping Linux across VPN

Hi

I have MS VPN server running on WIN2000 server.
It works fine except I cannot ping Linux machine across VPN, all Windows are fine. Linux can be pinged from internal network, even from VPN server.
Any ideas what it could be?

An IP packet needs must be able to travel to and fro. Does the Linux box have the return route?
