Have you tried doing this in Pure DOS mode from a good boot disk? We are always looking for new members at: forums.jlrforum.net Please come join our community too.

fdisk will not run well from Windows. In fact you can't make any changes of the type you're trying on the partition that you're currently using, hence disk cannot be locked. Go with the dumdum and use a boot disk to delete the partition. Converting C: is a cinch in NT, but I'm not sure how 95 will handle it. The job has to be done as part of a reboot and may require the use of more advanced DOS commands. Is 'convert' available to Win95 DOS? Resizing C: is then another problem. All in all your best bet is to take this a golden oppertunity to re-install into a newly created and fresh FAT32 4Gb partition. Your E: drive will be unchanged.

message reads, This partition passes 1024 cylinder border no space for new partition.

fperc, you have a BIOS problem. You need a BIOS upgrade or need to load a drive overlay to allow greater that 1024 cyl drive. Ed Fair
