I used to be able to open Lotus Files (wk*) in Excel right up to today. This morning, when I tried to do that, I got a prompt:
Code:
You are trying to open a file type that is blocked by your registry policy setting
I have not done anything to the registry.

I did some research on the web and followed the instructions given by Microsoft, but no joy.

Can someone tell me what to do? I am not quite conversant with Windows registry.

Thanks in advance.

I think I saw somewhere that this is an effect of Service Pack 3 for Office 2003. See whether the Microsoft Knowledge Base has any way to override it.

Thanks, but I have only installed Service Pack 2. I have not yet installed SP3.

Will un-installing Excel and re-installing it help?
