Hi,
We have three SQL Servers. One server acts as a distributor and publisher, and two servers are subscribers in replication. All of a sudden, I can't connect to one server, I get the following message:
Cannot open user default database. login failed.
Nothing was changed in network connections.
Can someone please help me?

Thank you,

Rushdi

That message usually occurs because the login has been set up with a default database but has not been granted access to that DB. If the default database is offline, detached, set in single-user or DBO use only, the login will also fail. Check the default database for the login on the remote server and make sure it has been granted access and that the DB is available. If you want to get the best answer for your question read faq183-874 and faq183-3179.

Hi,
The problem disappeared suddenly. Now I can connect to all the servers.
Thanks,
Rushdi

Hi,
The problem started when I couldn't connect one of the servers from my machine using client tools, but another developer was able to connect who has same privilages.
Then we tried to replicate data to that server, but couldn't connect to server and replication failed.
After ten minutes all started work again.
It's very weird. I am thinking it's a network issue.
