Hello,
For some strange reason I'm not able to open enterprise manager. I got this problem only today.

I get the followin error when i try opening it.
"MMc cannot open the file c:\Program files\microsoft sql server\80\tools\binn\sql server enterprise manager.MSC"
"This may because the file does not exist .........."

I opened the binn folder in windows explorer and tried opening the file from there but got the same error.

any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

First ... can you open Query Analyzer???

Then ...

May be the "SQL Server Enterprise Manager.MSC" file got corrupted. You need
to get a fresh version from the setup CD.Try this:

1.Do a search for the above file and note the location.
2.From the setup CD. copy the "x86\BINN\SQLEM.MSC" to the above location.
3.Rename this file as 'SQL Server Enterprise Manager.MSC' .(make sure to
include the blank spaces in between)
4.Reopen enterprise manager.

If the above doesnt help, the may be the error is due to the dependant
files. In that case, refer the workaround mentioned in:

PRB: Cannot Use SQL Server 7.0 Tools After You Remove SQL Server 2000
