Cannot open msg attachment in outlook 2003

Hi Folks,

We have a particular user who is unable to open msg attachment in Outlook 2003 unless the file is first saved to the disk. Nobody else has this problem. I have checked the file association,downloaded the latest update, did detect and repair, and reinstalled outlook with no luck.This user has too many messages in Outlook that i dont even want to think about creating another user profile.
What else can I do ?
The user is using windows xp professional with sp2 and office 2003

User finally back from vacation, but still unable to resolve the problem. Did the level1remove,installed updates,detect and repair, none worked. The ironic thing is that this seems to be affecting a couple of users using laptops. Attachment opens fine in Outlook on desktop computers.

What else can we try ? Please help...

I have the exact same problem using Outlook 2003 and XP on a desktop.

No luck solving it sofar.

Nope, no luck. Had to save file before opening it.
