I have application that shows link to some documents that could be MSExcel, MSWord and PDF.
The Word document and pdf open correctly in browser with word or acrobat browser extensions.
Excel files do not start as excel in browser, but show data stream, like when you open them in notepad.

How to change setting of my browser to show excel documents?

What browser are you using? Basically, you will need to set up the MIME type and tell the browser which application to use for the set MIME type. But without knowing which browser it is, it is hard to give you more advice.

I use IE6.0.2 and excel files locate on Linux box with Apache and Tomcat server.

Are you hoping to have excel open them on all clients machines or just your own?

I use Lynx/Mozilla/FireFox fairly interchangably on a linux box... If I were to "click" on one of your links I'd either get a bunch of trash spamming my screen, an assocated application opening it, or the start of a download. Excel isn't a Web format -- though in windows with Excel installed people can tell their browsers to open the file with excel... On the server side there is little you can do, but make sure you give the files the proper extention.

Yes I am (at least).
