Good Day -

I am trying to get a client's SQLBase database to open using the SQLBase 11.0.1. The issue I am running into in SQLTalk when trying to connect I get this error message 00401 DBA COD Cannot open database.

I have also seen cannot open log file as well as something like invalid database serial number while using the Connection utility as well as the SQL Console DBA.

I have tried to do the Rollforward and I receive the 00401 DBA COD Cannot open database error. I have verified that the database paths are correct in the sql.ini file.

I think that the issue has to do with the fact that the dbs file that I am using from the client is in Version 6.x.

Does anyone have anything that I could try to pull this data.

Thanks

Yeagly

Your database is in old version. Do you know SB11 do auto conversion.? from older version to new version. Read the fixes documents.

401 error means sqltalk is not able to see the databse.

try using Gupta Connectivity admin and see if you can see the database.

Thanks,
partha

Thanks for the response.

I am able to see the database in the Connectivity Admin section. However when I go into SQLConsole it cannot connect to the database. I have looked into the auto conversion that you are referring to however I have not been able to find anything very helpful. Do you have a link to the document?

Thanks
Yeagly

1. Are you able to ping from conectivity admin?
2. Try connecting from SQLtalk to SQLconsole database.
3. Can you please check in your path there is no more than one SQL.ini.
4. attach your client sql.ini and server sql.ini if they are in a different machines. else attach sql.ini

Thanks,
