Have 4 users who have been accesssing an access database, one of the users applied Win Xp sp2 and since then she cannot open the access database. The access database is 97 version.

Everytime she clicks on the shortcut, she gets the following dialogue box:

The Current user account doesn't have permission to convert or enable this database.

The other users have no problem opening the database.

Please can anyone help - the problem seems to be the Win XP sp2, I wonder if there is a workaround rather than un-installing sp2.

have you tried to create a new database on her computer, and then importing everything from the old database?

or does the import not recognise any objects either?

Thankyou for your responses.

I have managed to resolve the problem, must admit it was lack of user information. The user that could not access the database had upgraded to office 2003 thus the Ms Access 97 would not load.

The only option I could see feasibile was to install Office 97 version on her PC (only installed Access97 via custom install option) into a new folder so that it did not conflict with the office 2003.
Created a new shortcut and all worked well.
