Cannot Open a VFP Free Table

Hi !

I am using Crystal Reports 8.0 with VFP 6.0. I wish to generate a report in Crystal from a VFP free table (DENOREP.DBF) (Created dynamically in a program).

I made a dummy DBF file with the exact structure required for the report design in crystal. When I try to add the table to the report using Add Database/Find Database and select the same Table Name (DENOREP.DBF) the crystal report designer gives the following three messages
1. 'IDAPI Error :
2. 'Can not open DAO DBE Engine'
3. Error Recognising the file 'File C:\VT\VFP\DENOREP.DBF is not a known database type. Please choose again.'.

Why can't I use a VFP table directly. Is there any way I can create a report using a VFP free table directly using Crystal native, OLEDB etc. If so, how ?. I do not wish to use ODBC DSN if possible.

Please help.

Where can I find some good help on VFP with Crystal other than Crystal Decisions ?

You might use OLE DB using the ODBC driver, but I think that you'll be limited to using the VFP ODBC driver in some form.
